Invertigo: A History
Before Invertigo became the well-known rock band we know them as today, the three Leigh brothers were constantly re-arranging themselves to fit into other bands. Still in their teens, James and Vince began the trend by securing themselves a comfy position in the Great Aussie Rock Icon 'Pseudo Echo'.

It began with James, who, like Christian with Invertigo, responded to a newspaper advert for a keyboard player. After James joined the group in 1984, Vince entered the scene. The two Leigh Brothers stayed with Pseudo Echo long enough to produce two albums; "Love an Adventure" and "Race".

In 1990 the Leigh Brothers left Pseudo Echo as the band began to fade out. They rejoined their brother Gerry and together with Hugh Wilson, formed a new band called 'Vertigo in 1996. Vertigo released two singles. The debut single "Forever Lately", was a very catchy tune with a lot of radio air play, despite not making it in the charts. Their second single "Human Need (Stay With Me)" was unfortunately even more unsuccessful then their debut.

The three Leigh Brothers and Hugh Wilson left Vertigo, but the Leigh Brothers were not finished yet. They placed an add in the paper for a vocalist. Front man Christian Argenti responded to that add, and despite having over 100 replies, "The personal connection with Christian was on par with his vocal abilities" recalls Vince Leigh. Of course Christian was chosen, Invertigo was formed and the rest is history.

The Little Bit About The Band Members...

Christian Argenti.

Christian was born on Jan 3rd in Melbourne Australia. His musical influences derive from such great artists as; Living Colour, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder, Van Halen, Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, Lenny Kravitz, Jeff Buckley, Jean-Michel Jarre, Pearl Jam and James Brown. His good luck charm is an autographed Pic Eddie Van Halen. Christian was known to drive around in a Camaro, which I don't believe he has any more. He has also told us that he enjoys going to Topillinos for a bite to eat and that his fav pizza is capricciosa.

Vince Leigh.

Vince was born on 19th November in Melbourne Australia. His musical inspiration comes from such artists as; The Who, David Bowie, Kiss, Blondie, Bob Dylan, Wings, Prince, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Midnight Oil and The Sex Pistols. Vince's nickname is 'Cheno' although not too sure why. When asked to describe his car, he simply says " A Green One". Although he can't leave without his sunglasses, Vince absolutely adores his leather jacket.

Gerry Leigh.

Gerry's full name is actually Gerome William Leigh. He was born on May 10th in Melbourne Australia. So what musicians help keep Gerry inspired? Well there's The Police, Kiss, Boston, Queen, Van Halen and AC/DC and then there is also Aerosmith, Carl Saga and Arthur C. Clarke, Thin Lizzy and of course Deep Purple. Though Gerome is widely known as Gerry, there are a lot of fans that like to call him 'Jezza'. Gerry says that if he weren't a muso he'd be an architect. The two people he'd like to meat, that are still alive, are Stephen Hawking and Stephen Spielberg.

James Leigh.

James was born in Melbourne Australia on 1st December. James has acquired the very cute nickname 'Mumbles'. Although James cannot leave home without his dog, he'd love the opportunity to meet Angelina Jolie and Jerry Seinfeld. If James had to choose a fav item of clothing, it would be his black boots.
